The cost of TikTok influencers promoting your fitness business in Singapore
Who would have thought, the same group of people that were told to get a real job a couple years ago, are now the same group of people we sought after to help our business. Yes I am talking about “influencers”. Regardless of what you think about them, it is undeniable that attention is the currency of today. Whether you like it or not, these influencers sure know how to garner attention. Chances are if you are reading this, you are curious about how much it costs to get an influencer to promote your business, so today we are going to break it down for you and give you our two cents on whether or not it is actually worth it.
Here are some hacks you might not already know about paid influencer promotion:
Hack 1: What if I told you that you could get an influencer to promote your business without money. You would think I am lying, okay yes I am kind of lying, but it is pretty close to getting free influencer promotion. I am referring to exchanging your fitness business services in exchange of them promoting your business, which I believe is a really good deal. This could be in the form of free classes or even a discounted long term membership for them to promote your fitness business. This is a viable option if you are unwilling to spend money for influencers to promote your business, however do not expect all influencers to be agreeable to this as some of them would still prefer to get paid.
Hack 2: Static post vs Video on TikTok. You may not be aware of this but static posts are usually cheaper. So this could be a consideration to take when choosing what kind of content you want to engage an influencer for. You might be wondering which of the 2 content performs better, truth be told there is not a clear cut answer so if you want to save a bit of money, you could consider engaging an influencer for a static post instead of a video.
TikTok influencer rates:
Now this is the part I think is going to be really valuable and interesting. Truth be told, the reason I wrote this blog was because I myself was pretty curious about the rates of TikTok influencers. While writing this and doing research I was met with an obstacle, the lack of data on this in Singapore. Due to TikTok being a relatively newer social media platform, there is less data and information about how much influencers charge per post on TikTok. Fret not because I have actually taken the effort to reach out to a couple of TikTok influencers about their rates. But for their privacy and confidentiality, I will not be mentioning their names and will only give a range of the followers they have.
How TikTok influencers can help your fitness business:
- Content creation
There is simply no escaping TikTok’s reach and influence today, so it goes without saying that if you are able to leverage it, your fitness business can benefit greatly. This is where these influencers come in, they have a good understanding of the platform, and what kind of content connects and appeals to audiences of this platform. With them promoting your fitness business, you can expect more customers, if not at least eyeballs and a stronger brand reputation - Long term promotion
If you build a good relationship with these influencers or if they enjoy the environment and services of your fitness business. They might end up as a regular customer and can feature your gym in their daily life social media updates such as TikTok stories and vlogs or even Instagram stories. This does not always happen but, if you are lucky it is literally free and organic promotion for your business. - Reach the right target audience
This is not the case with all influencers, but some of them do have a niche or target audience. There are more fitness-centric influencers such as Jeynelle Ng or Tyen Rasif, or if you are looking for a specific age group or gender you can reach out to influencers who have that demographic you are trying to reach.
Is it worth it?
Well that’s a loaded question. If “worth it” means getting a return on the money that you spent on these influencers. It’s really not guaranteed whether you will actually “profit” from it. But if you value having a strong social media presence and or brand, it could definitely be a worthy investment. So before you think about hiring these influencers, realise what problem you are trying to solve. Are you trying to get more customers for this month, or are you trying to raise awareness around your gym, by figuring that out you will figure out if getting a TikTok influencer to promote your fitness business is worth it.
