The Faculty of Calisthenics is a boutique shophouse studio nestled in the vibrant district of Kampong Glam. At The Faculty, we believe that strength isn’t about lifting heavy weights — it’s about mastering control over your own body. Our mission is to provide a safe and supportive space where individuals of all fitness levels can build a strong foundation in Calisthenics before progressing to more advanced skills. Led by experienced trainers, including our founder Haaziq (@caliwithziqqy) —a seasoned personal trainer with years of strength training expertise, and his wife, Ashikin (@ashyclair) — who is passionate about empowering women to break boundaries, we focus on proper technique, progressive training, and sustainable results. Whether you’re a beginner looking to develop fundamental strength or an athlete aiming to refine advanced movements, our structured approach ensures you build resilience, confidence, and total-body strength. Mei Yen's backbend classes are great if you prefer a strength/mobility approach to working on backbends. the drills she does depend on the peak pose we're working on for that class, and when working on said pose she goes around the class to give specific adjustments to each student. Also she's super friendly and I would definitely recommend her classes! :)

Debra is always crystal clear and composed in her explanations even while demonstrating something that takes breathwork. She pays attention to each participant’s needs while also letting us decide when to push ourselves. Your presence creates a safe space for us to ugly-exercise in. That’s why we make so much random noises and faces during class. 🙈

Ethel is very attentive and details in explanation about the workout, and as a beginner, she rest assured us well and less pressure in finishing the set, so we can take our time as we adapt to the workout. Strongly recc for beginner!
